General Notary Work
Wills, Powers of Attorney, Estate Documents, Realty Documents, Contracts, Titles, Permission Slips, Certification of Citizenship Forms, Passport Applications, etc. If it has a notary section, we can most likely notarize it!
How to Prepare
- Have proper ID. The signer must have a valid, unexpired, government-issued PHOTO ID.
- Winesses, if required by your document, must be present when the notary arrives and must have their proper ID
- Documents must be filled out completely except for the signer’s signature. A waiting fee may be charged if the notary must wait for documents to be completed. We charge a $15 waiting fee per 1/4 hour if the notary must wait for documents to be completed or for witnesses to arrive. You are not hiring the notary for the entire day- the notary has other clients.
- Signer(s) must be mentally competent, aware of what they are signing and cannot be under distress or duress when they are signing. Signers cannot be under the influence of any drugs (legal or otherwise), alcohol or other substances that alter their perception or understanding of what they are signing.
- The notary is not an attorney and, by law, cannot give any legal advice or advise you in any way regarding the completion of your document. If you have any questions, contact the person asking you to complete the document or consult an attorney. All a notary does is verify your identity and witnesses your signing. We are state officials charged with preventing signing fraud. We are not attorneys and have no legal training. Legal training is not a requirement for notaries, although SOME notaries ARE also attorneys. We are not.
